With the New Year upon us, the time has come to set resolutions for changes we want to make in the New Year. Perhaps one of the most popular resolutions that people make is to lose weight. There many different methods they can be used in order to lose weight. A current popular method is a short term plan that detoxifies the body of various impurities. Known as a cleanse, this is a good way to kick start weight loss. In order to have a successful cleanse there are some steps you can follow.

Share Your Plans with Family & Friends

Mealtime has become an important social time with family and friends. During a cleanse, you will be eating differently than usual. Therefore it is important to let these people know of your plans so they can be supportive.

The Buddy System

One way to help ensure that your cleanse will be successful is to elicit a partner. In this way you can both support one another. Typically people have better luck than they have the person they can help provide them with positive reinforcement.

Drink Up!

Water consumption is key when you’re cleansing the body. Not only does water help a person feel satisfied it also helps flush the impurities from one’s system. A good rule of thumb is to drink at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water daily.

Spread Meals Out

When cleansing the body, it is more effective to eat meals and snacks every three to 5 hours. What this will do is stabilize your metabolism. You want to avoid grazing on small meals through the day.
