Staying Free of the Flu
It is that time of year where cold and flus can strike you without much noticing leaving you miserable and uncomfortable. It is possible to keep yourself from getting the flu by taking some proactive measures. One of these is quite simple. You just need to wash your hands. Following certain tips when washing your hands can make this even more effective.
Count to 20
Lather your hands up with soap. Then rub all parts of your hands together for 20 seconds. Not sure when 20 seconds has elapsed? A simple way is to sing the “Happy Birthday” song two times in a row.
Thoroughly Dry
After you are finished washing your hands, make sure to dry them completely. If you do not and your hands are left wet, then you are much more likely to transfer bacteria. This defeats the purpose of washing your hands.
Sanitize
Hand washing is definitely the best way in which to rid your hands of germs. However, if hand washing simply is not practical, then you can use a hand sanitizer. Make sure the hand sanitizer is alcohol based as those provide the best results.
