Default Dr. Oz Help Me Please

Dr. Oz.
I am 29 years old and weigh 336lbs. I have tried diets and walk alway the pounds, but have a hard time sicking to them. I don't have anywhere to turn. I can't walk up the steps with out being out of weight. I can't go to a cook out or to visit someone, without saying can I fit in the chairs. Will they hold me or fall. It is so embarrassing. I have 3 beautiful children that I don't even go out to park and play with because I am to tired. My husband is concerned about my weight. I don't have medical insurance so I can't even go to the doctors to get any help. Please give my some advice or something. I don't want to die and I want to be around for a long time for my family.

Hi, Shakia.

Just my thoughts here. From what you’ve mentioned, I gather it's all about the sedentary lifestyle that's giving you all that unwanted weight. A change in perspective would be of great help. It's time you get up and about, start aiming for a healthier physique, get all that determination to trim down and not mind whatever other people will say about you.

Focus. Get back on diet and complement it with exercise. Take long, pleasurable walks. Go visit friends and attend cook outs. Bring your own chair if you must. Go out to the park with your kids and play with them. These may tire you out, but these activities release hormones that trigger feelings of happiness and stress-relief.

It’s important that you want this badly enough you’d be willing to be work for it, or this will just be another failed attempt.

You can also follow Dr. Oz’s quick work-outs at http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/20-minutes-better-body

Cheers to a healthier you.

Shakia, can your husband help you out? I mean, accompany you to exercise and stuff. You need someone who's willing to encourage you, motivate you, and stick with you into shedding those pounds. You probably are the "social exerciser", the type who'll gain more from having friends whom you can exercise with. Don't go into a program alone.

Hope this helps.

Hi Brekia,

I suggest to try swimming. It has the same benefits as running or jogging but with less stress on the knees. But please try to consult your doctor first before doing any physical exercise.

Good luck with your goal.

One quick note... After your cardiovascular exercise (swim, run, jog or walk), you can follow it up with some Isometric Exercises.

Read more about these exercises here under the "Health and Fitness" Category.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have already gone once. They have some great family swim sessions.. The personal trainer has put me on 45-60 minutes of exercise. 3-4 times a week. I do some cardio and some weights for arms and legs.
